| Comments: | Gene,to me, your Daredevil and Black Widow remain the standards by which to judge other artists! In a career that is perhaps more diversified than any other artist, you keep finding new ways to astonish your fans. Your recent return to Dracula (with Marv Wolfman) was excellent! As a fan, I hope to see you teamed with Tom Palmer once again. Congratulations to you and Kevin Hall on a terrific website! All the best!! |

| Comments: | A wonderful page, honoring one of the most under-appreciated artists of the Silver Age. Gene, you’ve earned a good retirement but comic fans are the poorer for it. Thanks for much excellent work over the years. |

| Comments: | Howdy, Gene! Great to see your site, and I’m looking forward to reading the interviews, the biography, the bibliography, and looking at the art you’ve made me so happy with for so darned long! A year ago, you did a great commission for me, of Howard the Duck playing cards with the devil (of course -- isn’t that what everyone asks you to draw?) -- It’s definitely a highlight of my collection. Keep drawing! Enjoy life! Glen Gold |

| Comments: | Does anyone know if Gene’s contributions for "Ambulance" were ever published or where his ad for "Hostess cupcakes" appeared? I recently purchased some old DC romance comics and I have to say that Gene did great art for the romance stories (I like them more than Frazetta’s). Gene has always been my favourite artist along with Al Williamson. I’m looking forward to his next projects. |

| Comments: | Gene, Just a few words from France to tell you that you have fans living thousands miles from your home. You probably knew that, but, like UFO’s, it is more convincing to see one than to have heard of them. Best Regards Laurent |

| Comments: | Gene: Enjoyed meeting you at your recent appearance at That’s Entertainment in
Worcester, MA. You were a true gentleman, taking time to personally engage each of the
fans who approached you, and then taking a huge list of names home with you to fulfill
every fan’s desire for an original Colan sketch. I said it then, and I’ll say it now:
thanks for all the years of entertainment. I wish you nothing but good health and good
times in your retirement. best, Tom Field |

| Comments: | Dear Gene and Adrienne, It’s really exciting to see you guys have your own website. You’ve always been on the cutting edge of the comics scene, and anyone taking your class is privileged to be working with such a masterful story-teller. When people ask me what my favorite books have been, certainly among them have been the RAGAMUFFINS and NATHANIEL DUSK series that you and I have done together. Not only is there just the sheer pleasure of working with someone so talented, but it is as if you can climb inside my head, Gene, and know exactly what those characters should look like, whether it is little Randy in RAGAMUFFINS suddenly free from parental restraint, his face full of the wonders that a little boy can imagine, or the world-weariness of Nathaniel Dusk. You are absolutely right, an inker’s personality can take over the pencils. Dusk was a case in point. You had one character portrait of Dusk, and he was exactly the way I saw him. DC then had someone ink those figures, and they saw them and thought I would be thrilled. Well, I wasn’t. You had captured what I wanted. The inker had transformed it into something else. And that’s when I started asking that they print your pencils. So good luck, guys, or your cutting edge adventure on the internet. I love you guys. |

| Comments: | I was lucky enough to meet Gene "the Dean" Colan recently in Worcester, MA. One of his other monickers afforded him by the Marvel Bullpen is "Genial" Gene Colan. I can tell you for a fact that, if anything, that’s an understatement. It’s been an honor getting to know the artist behind all the incredible motion I enjoyed for years in Daredevil. Thanks much, Gene. |
